Job Description:
We are recruiting an experienced and creative Head of Wellbeing & Activities Coordinator to join a luxury, family-run 35-bed residential and dementia care home set within three acres of beautiful Surrey countryside.
This elegant 1920s country house provides long-term residential and specialist dementia care for people aged 65 and above. In addition to permanent care, the service also offers respite, convalescent and day care, making it a well-regarded and trusted part of the local community.
Occupying an elevated position, the home enjoys remarkable countryside views while remaining conveniently located just two miles from Guildford town centre, allowing residents to stay connected with community life.
The original building has been thoughtfully converted, retaining charming period features. Bedrooms are light, airy and en-suite, overlooking landscaped gardens and surrounding countryside. Residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms, supporting a genuine home-from-home environment.
As the Head of Wellbeing & Activities Coordinator (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday), you will lead the planning and delivery of a vibrant, engaging and person-centred activities programme. You will ensure residents enjoy meaningful experiences that promote independence, social interaction and emotional wellbeing, in line with the home’s philosophy of dignity, privacy and freedom of choice.

Key Responsibilities• Lead and coordinate the wellbeing and activities programme
• Plan and deliver creative, person-centred activities
• Promote residents’ physical, emotional and social wellbeing
• Organise group and one-to-one engagement opportunities
• Build relationships with residents, families and the wider community
• Maintain accurate records of participation and engagement
• Adapt activities to meet the needs of residents living with dementia
• Support special events, celebrations and themed activities
Candidate Requirements• Previous experience in an activities or wellbeing role within care
• NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care (desirable)
• Creative, enthusiastic and compassionate approach
• Good understanding of dementia and person-centred care
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Ability to lead initiatives and work independently
• A genuine passion for enhancing quality of life for older people
