Job Description:
Temporary Outdoor Maintenance Operative – 2 Month Contract
Our client, a third-sector organisation supporting community services across Renfrewshire, is seeking a Temporary Outdoor Maintenance Operative to provide short-term cover for approximately two months.
*Location - Renfrewshire (working across parks and outdoor recreational sites)
*£14.68 per hour
*37 hours per week - Monday to Friday
This is a hands-on role supporting the inspection, maintenance, and upkeep of outdoor play and recreational facilities. The successful candidate will work across multiple sites, ensuring equipment is safe, functional, and well maintained.
Key Responsibilities
*Carry out scheduled inspections of outdoor play areas
*Record findings using handheld electronic systems
*Perform basic maintenance and repairs to play equipment
*Complete minor repairs to surfaces such as rubber and woodchip
*Undertake touch-up painting and install signage where required
*Monitor and report stock levels of parts and materials
*Carry out general parks maintenance (litter picking, debris removal, weed control, graffiti removal)
*Erect temporary fencing when required
*Use a variety of hand and power tools safely
*Maintain vehicles and equipment in good working condition
*Follow all health and safety procedures and use PPE appropriately
Requirements: *Experience in outdoor maintenance or similar operational work
*Competent in using a range of hand and power tools
*Good awareness of health and safety practices
*Ability to work independently across multiple locations
*Full driving licence preferred (7.5 tonne licence desirable but not essential)
