Sweeper DriverLocation: Exeter
Pay: £13.69 per hour
Contract Type: Temporary with possibility of becoming Permanent
Berry Recruitment is currently recruiting a Sweeper Driver on behalf of our client based in Exeter. This is a temporary position offering consistent hours and the opportunity to play an important role in maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming public spaces.
Working HoursYou will work Monday to Friday on a rota basis:
*7:00am - 3:30pm, or
*6:00am - 2:00pm
Key ResponsibilitiesWorking independently or as part of a team within an allocated area, your duties will include:
*Removing litter and emptying litter bins as required
*Carrying out basic graffiti and fly-post removal, weed trimming, and general cleansing duties
*Cleaning public toilets and car parks when necessary
*Undertaking basic inspections of facilities and reporting any maintenance issues
*Identifying further work required for specialist teams (e.g. grounds maintenance, mechanical sweeping, tree work, large-scale graffiti removal, deep cleaning)
*Reporting issues affecting the appearance and safety of public spaces, including fly-tipping, abandoned vehicles, damaged street furniture, stray dogs, or misuse of council land
*Completing basic records such as time sheets, daily checks, and inspection logs
*Following all health & safety procedures and council policies at all times
*Working flexibly across shift patterns to meet service demands
*Undertaking any other reasonable duties relevant to the role
Requirements*Full UK driving licence
*Flexible, and safety-conscious
*Able to work independently and as part of a team
Full training will be provided to ensure you can carry out the role safely and effectively.
