Job Description:

Based in Manchester, you’ll be part of a friendly and forward-thinking studio, working on a range of projects with real scope for progression.
Key Responsibilities*Develop project briefs into considered design solutions aligned with the RIBA Plan of Work, working with a high degree of autonomy
*Contribute to the coordination and delivery of pre-construction information across project stages
*Produce efficient, sustainable and buildable design solutions
*Ensure designs comply with UK regulations, British Standards and relevant Codes of Practice
*Advise on material selection, considering performance, cost, and environmental impact
*Prepare detailed technical specifications using NBS, supported by up-to-date manufacturer information
*Support design development in line with project budgets, including value engineering where required
*Participate in project reviews, coordination meetings and workshops
*Assist in preparing and submitting planning, building regulations and building safety documentation
*Liaise with statutory authorities and contribute to reports and submissions
*Collaborate with clients, consultants, contractors and specialist teams
*Support the management of design risks and maintain accurate project documentation
*Assist during construction stages, including troubleshooting design-related issues
Skills & Experience*Qualified Architect (RIBA Part III) with ARB registration
*Minimum 3+ years’ post-qualification experience within a UK architectural practice
*Strong technical knowledge, including construction detailing and UK regulatory requirements
*Experience in the education sector (desirable, not essential)
*Commercial awareness and understanding of project delivery within a consultancy environment
*Proficiency in design and visualisation tools such as SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite
*Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit (BIM experience preferred)
