Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of a busy warehouse and distribution facility. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient operations across goods-in, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch, while maintaining high standards of health & safety, stock accuracy, and site security.


Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
*Manage daily warehouse activities including goods-in, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch
*Ensure accurate and timely order fulfilment to meet customer expectations
*Optimise warehouse layout and processes to improve efficiency and space utilisation
*Stock Control
*Maintain accurate stock levels through cycle counts and stocktakes
*Investigate and resolve discrepancies
*Drive continuous improvement in stock management processes
Health & Safety
*Ensure full compliance with H&S legislation and company policies
*Conduct risk assessments, audits, and site inspections
*Promote a strong safety culture across the team
Site Security
*Act as key holder, responsible for opening and closing the site
*Ensure security of premises, stock, and company assets
*Respond to alarm callouts where required
Team Leadership
*Supervise, motivate, and develop warehouse staff
*Provide training, guidance, and performance management
*Support recruitment and onboarding of new team members
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
*Support and maintain ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001)
*Ensure compliance with relevant UK healthcare standards
*Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational best practice
Requirements
*Proven experience in warehouse or operations management
*Strong understanding of warehouse processes, logistics, and stock control
*Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations
*Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
*IT literate with experience using ERP or warehouse systems
*Must live within 30 minutes of Tunbridge Wells (key holder requirement)
Desirable
*Experience within a regulated industry (e.g., medical devices, healthcare, pharmaceuticals)
*Familiarity with ISO standards
*First Aid or Fire Marshal certification
*Degree or equivalent qualification
*Operate forklift trucks safely and efficiently
