Job Description:
Robertson Bell is supporting a growing and forward-thinking education organisation to recruit a Finance Officer on a permanent basis.
This role offers the chance to join an organisation that is continuing to evolve and invest in its central functions. You’ll be part of a supportive team environment where ideas are welcomed and development is actively encouraged.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative central finance function supporting a group of schools and education services. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day finance operations, while also contributing to wider improvements in processes, reporting and financial controls.
The Role
Reporting into senior finance leadership, you will take ownership of core finance processes while supporting a wider network of stakeholders across the organisation.
Key responsibilities will include:
*Managing sales and purchase ledger processes end-to-end
*Supporting payroll processing and associated reconciliations
*Assisting with month-end close, including balance sheet reconciliations
*Supporting VAT returns and audit processes
*Monitoring income streams and supporting budget holders
*Assisting with procurement processes and supplier management
*Contributing to ongoing improvements in financial systems and processes
Alongside this, you will build strong working relationships with operational teams, helping to drive consistency and best practice across the organisation.
The Successful Candidate
The successful candidate will be a hands-on finance professional who enjoys working in a varied, fast-paced environment.
You will bring:
*Experience across transactional finance and month-end processes
*Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
*Confidence working with non-finance stakeholders
*A proactive mindset with a willingness to improve processes
*Previous experience within the education or not-for-profit sector is advantageous, but not essential
If you are looking for a role where you can add real value while continuing to develop your skillset, apply now or get in touch to find out more.
