We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Maths Lecturer to deliver GCSE and Functional Skills Maths across a range of curriculum areas. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking FE college where Maths is central to student success and progression.

The RoleYou will teach GCSE and Functional Skills Maths to learners across a variety of vocational pathways, playing a key role in improving achievement, engagement, and progression outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
*Deliver high-quality GCSE and Functional Skills Maths lessons to 16-18 learners
*Plan and prepare engaging schemes of work, lessons, and resources
*Assess student progress through coursework, exams, and ongoing feedback
*Monitor attendance, achievement, and behaviour, implementing interventions where needed
*Support student inductions, progress reviews, and pastoral development
*Contribute to curriculum development and course leadership where required
*Utilise e-learning and digital tools to enhance delivery
*Participate in open days, recruitment events, and quality improvement processes
Essential Requirements*Degree in Maths (or related subject) or strong experience teaching GCSE Maths
*Experience delivering GCSE and/or Functional Skills Maths
*Minimum Level 5 teaching qualification (PGCE/DET or equivalent) or willingness to work towards
*Strong classroom management and ability to engage 16-18 learners
*Excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills
*Commitment to inclusive learning, safeguarding, and equality & diversity
Desirable*Experience working within Further Education
*Ability to take on course leadership responsibilities
*Understanding of GCSE and Functional Skills assessment frameworks
