Paraplanner
  • England,North West,Greater Manchester
  • Full Time, Permanent
  • £40,000 - £45,000 per annum
Job Description:
A well-established, independent Chartered Financial Planning firm in Manchester City Centre is looking for an experienced Paraplanner to join its growing team. This is a genuine career opportunity with a firm that invests in its people — not just a seat to fill.
About the firm:
This is a Chartered status practice that has been independently advising clients across the North West for over 40 years. The business is owned by its advisers — not a network, not a consolidator — and has grown steadily through client referrals and selective acquisitions. Based in a modern city centre office, the firm has a well-resourced support team already in place and a strong culture of long-term client relationships. This hire reflects genuine growth, not backfill.
The role:
You’ll work alongside an experienced advisory team to provide the technical research and written advice that underpins every client recommendation. This is a hands-on paraplanning role with real variety and responsibility.
*Writing detailed suitability reports and advice letters across pensions, investments and protection
*Conducting technical research and analysis to support adviser recommendations
*Cashflow modelling and tax-efficient planning analysis
*Fund and platform research using Adviser Asset, FE Analytics and in-house tools
*Analysing existing client arrangements against objectives and making recommendations
*Maintaining and improving reporting processes to ensure ongoing compliance
What you’ll need:
*Proven paraplanning experience within an IFA practice
*Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (or close to completion)
*Strong technical knowledge across pensions, investments and protection
*Confident writing and research skills — report writing and research are the core of this role
*Familiarity with investment and provider products and platforms
Intelligent Office (IO) experience is a bonus but not essential.
The package:
*Salary up to £45,000 depending on experience
*Hybrid, 2 days per week working from home
*7% employer pension contribution
*4x salary death in service
*Group critical illness cover
*25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
*Office shuts over Christmas at no cost to your annual leave
*Exam support and bonuses for passing exams
