What you’ll be doing
An opportunity has arisen to join the Card Scheme Management Team within Consumer Lending. The team supports the day to day management of our relationships with Visa and Mastercard, providing scheme expertise and operational support to colleagues across Consumer Credit and Commercial Cards.
This role plays an important part in ensuring scheme activity runs smoothly, supporting live products, managing scheme communications and queries, and helping the business understand and respond to scheme requirements. Working closely with internal stakeholders and senior scheme managers, you’ll contribute to improving processes, controls, and ways of working across Card Scheme Management.
As a Card Schemes Manager, you’ll be responsible for -
*Acting as a day-to-day point of contact for scheme-related queries, providing operational and SME support to internal teams.
*Managing scheme communications, including ownership of the shared scheme mailbox and triage of scheme bulletins, announcements, and updates.
*Supporting live card products and scheme services, including product set-up, change activity, and ongoing BAU support.
*Assisting with the monitoring of scheme fees and charges, helping to identify trends, issues, and improvement opportunities in partnership with Finance and colleagues.
*Supporting Commercial Cards activity and scheme forums where required, contributing coordination and scheme insight.
*Assisting with scheme change, compliance, and coordination activity, working with Legal, Finance, and other stakeholders as appropriate.
*Contributing to the continuous improvement of scheme processes, controls, and ways of working, including opportunities for simplification and automation.
Why join us?
We’re on an exciting journey to transform our Group and the way we’re shaping finance for good. We’re focusing on the future, investing in our technologies, workplaces, and colleagues to make our Group a great place for everyone.
What we’re looking for?
We’re looking for a proactive and organised colleague who enjoys working across teams and supporting shared outcomes. You’ll ideally bring:
*Confidence communicating clearly with a range of internal stakeholders.
*A structured approach to managing queries, information, and day-to-day activity.
*A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn and develop scheme knowledge.
And any experience of these would be great
*An interest in cards, payments, or supplier-facing roles
We know that great talent comes from many backgrounds. Whilst this job advert may reference specific years of experience, we recognise that skills are developed in many ways, so if you have relevant, transferable experience, we encourage you to apply.
This is a place for you:
Our ambition is to be the leading UK business for diversity, equity and inclusion supporting our customers, colleagues and communities, and we’re committed to creating an environment in which everyone can thrive, learn and develop.
We were one of the first major organisations to set goals on diversity in senior roles, create a menopause health package, and a dedicated Working with Cancer Initiative.
We offer reasonable workplace adjustments for colleagues with disabilities, including flexibility in office attendance, location and working patterns. And, as a Disability Confident Leader, we guarantee interviews for a fair and proportionate number of applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the role with a disability, long-term health or neurodivergent condition through the Disability Confident Scheme.
We provide reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process to reduce or remove barriers. Just let us know what you need.
We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:
*A generous pension contribution of up to 15%
*An annual performance-related bonus
*Share schemes including free shares
*Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping
*28 days’ holiday, with bank holidays on top
*A range of wellbeing initiatives and generous parental leave policies
