Finance Ledger Associate Department: Finance Operations
Reports to: Finance Operations Manager
Location: UK (South West)
Level: Entry to Early Career
Role OverviewThis role sits within the Finance Operations function and supports core accounting processes, including transaction processing, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The position offers exposure to a broad range of finance activities and is well suited to someone looking to develop a career in accounting or finance.
Key Responsibilities*Process and analyse transactions across Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
*Manage bank transactions and resolve related issues
*Perform weekly and period-end reconciliations for key ledger and bank accounts
*Maintain and support a Time & Materials (timesheet) system
*Monitor data integrity within financial systems and assist in developing reporting processes
*Reconcile corporate card expenses using an expense management system
*Support month-end and quarter-end reporting activities
*Assist with internal and external audit processes
*Produce reports from various financial systems
*Contribute to continuous improvement of finance processes and reporting
*Support ad-hoc finance projects and tasks
*Provide cover for team members as required
Skills & Experience*Strong Microsoft Office skills (particularly Excel)
*Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
*Strong attention to detail and accuracy
*Effective communication and interpersonal skills
*Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
*Proactive approach with a willingness to take ownership of tasks
*Comfortable working with financial data and systems
*Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
*Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work collaboratively
*Willingness to learn and develop within a finance function
Qualifications & Knowledge*AAT (or equivalent finance qualification) desirable
*Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial controls
*Interest in developing knowledge in management accounting
