Job Description:
Loan Tool Programme Manager / Tool hire Manager / Tools distribution manager /Tool logistics Manager / Loan equipment Manager / Logistics / Supply chain / Distribution
Based South Reading (Near Green Park/M4 junction 11)
Office Based Monday to Friday min of 3-4 days each week
No weekend work
Core hours and flexibility for some hybrid working (1-2 days per week max)


Are you an experienced leader from a tool hire, equipment loan, lease, or distribution environment who knows how to keep operations moving, customers happy, and teams performing? You will be IT literate and at ease in creating weekly/monthly and quarterly reports for customers highlighting key metrics and date.


We’re looking for a confident and credible people leader to join us in this hands-on Loan Tool Programme Manager role to take ownership of key loan tool programmes, lead a small team of 4 and ensure service, stock, and commercial targets are met. You will be involved to support with new business opportunities relating to this function and will provide clients with regular reports/updates to allow them to understand the services delivered, costs and usage across their European operations.


This role is ideal for someone who combines strong people management/people leadership skills with practical logistics, distribution or supply chain experience to ensure orders and returns are managed in an efficient and organised way.


In this role, you’ll oversee the day-to-day running and development of loan tool programmes, manage team performance, support onboarding of new programmes and tools, and work closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers. You’ll also play a key part in stock control, reporting, billing, packaging design, calibration issues, and continuous improvement, helping ensure the right tools are in the right place at the right time.


We’re looking for someone who brings:
*Strong people leadership and line management experience with the credibility and natural leadership skills needed to set clear expectations, drive performance and engage experienced team members.
*A background or understanding of logistics, warehouse, shipping, distribution, or supply chain operations.
*Previous experience in a tool hire, equipment hire, lease, Loan or related businesses.
*IT literate with good use of creating and delivering excel based reporting
*Excellent communication, organisation, and customer service skills.
*A commercial mindset with a string attention to detail.
