Job Description:
Company Description
ReactWise is a seed-stage start-up located in Cambridge (UK) that offers powerful no-code software for optimizing chemical reactions. Using machine learning (ML) algorithms developed by the founders during their PhDs at the University of Cambridge, their software can significantly reduce process development time, bringing novel drugs to clinical trials much faster. Several chemical and pharmaceutical companies currently use our software - from start-ups to big pharma. As an early-stage start-up, we offer the opportunity to build software at the cutting edge of machine learning and chemistry, with short iteration cycles and autonomy to shape the software development process.

Role Description
We’re looking for a front end software engineer to join our small, fast-moving team in Cambridge on a 3-month fixed-term contract. You’ll work closely with our founders and software engineers to build appealing and intuitive user interfaces that help scientists run complex experiments more easily. This is a great opportunity to grow your skills in a supportive, high-impact environment, with lots of ownership and mentorship.

Key responsibilities
*Build responsive, user-friendly front-end components using React and TypeScript
*Collaborate with designers and engineers to translate ideas and wireframes into functional UI
*Contribute to design discussions and give input on improving user experience
*Write clean, well-documented code and participate in code review
*Test and debug front-end features across different browsers and screen sizes

Required skills
*A bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
*Experience building web applications with React and TypeScript (through work, projects, or coursework). Please link your GitHub account and/or portfolio.
*Understanding of HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript, especially collaborative git workflows.
*Eagerness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced, startup environment.
*Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.

Desirable skills
*Flair/intuition for good UI/UX design, and experience with Figma.
*Experience with developing React Single Page Applications (SPAs).
