Electrical Team Leader
Location: Liverpool
Contract type: Permanent, full time
Shifts: Days & Nights (including weekends)
Salary: £60,684 per year

Opportunity:

We are seeking an electrically skilledTeam Leader to join the operations team, working on a fleet of state of the art rolling stock vehicles. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a global rail company, offering long-term stability, cutting-edge technology and clear career progression.
The Role:
As Team Leader, you will provide technical leadership within a depot environment, supporting reliability, availability and safety targets across the fleet. You will act as the technical reference point for technicians, ensuring fault finding, repairs and warranty work are completed to the highest standard.
This is a hands-on, safety-critical Team Leader role requiring strong technical expertise in electrical systems, combined with clear communication and operational decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
*Supervise and support a small team of CAF Rail technicians
*Communication with clients and key stakeholders
*Carry out and lead fault finding and root cause analysis on all on-train systems
*Use schematics, test & measurement equipment and diagnostic software
*Plan, organise and oversee warranty and corrective repairs
*Liaise closely with the customer to maintain train availability and reliability targets
Essentials
*NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
*Strong post-qualification experience in electrical fault finding and diagnostics
*Confident interpreting electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics
*Background within Rail, Military or similar heavy engineering environments
*Comfortable working shifts (days/nights, weekends)
*Valid UK driving licence
