Labourer / Workshop Assistant
Location: West Sussex
Salary: £12.71
Hours: Monday to Friday (37 hours, early finish Friday)
Overtime: Paid at time + ½ after 40 hours
Type: Temp-to-Perm
The Role
We’re working with a busy engineering and manufacturing business looking to bring in a Labourer / Workshop Assistant to support the shop floor.
This is a hands-on, entry-level role suited to someone practical, reliable and keen to learn. You’ll be supporting skilled engineers and fabricators with a range of day-to-day tasks across the workshop.
Key Responsibilities
• General workshop support including cleaning and maintaining work areas
• Assisting with basic tasks such as drilling, cutting and fettling
• Supporting welders and assembly staff with preparation work
• Moving materials and components around the workshop
• Following basic instructions and health & safety procedures
• Supporting across different areas of the business as required

• Previous labouring or workshop experience beneficial but not essential
