About the RoleYou’ll lead the Technical and Quality function for all electrical product categories — guiding strategy, improving product performance, and ensuring every product is safe, compliant, and meets customer expectations.
This role blends leadership, hands-on technical expertise, and strategic quality management. You’ll work closely with suppliers, manufacturers, and global teams to drive continuous improvement and reinforce a culture of quality excellence.
Key Responsibilities*Lead and develop the Technical Team, setting clear standards and performance expectations.
*Oversee product testing, compliance, and auditing processes to ensure all products meet international safety, legal, and quality standards (LVD, EMC, ERP, RoHS, etc.).
*Drive supplier quality improvement programmes and cost-saving initiatives without compromising safety or performance.
*Manage customer complaints and incident investigations effectively and proactively.
*Communicate technical requirements and quality goals across teams — from sourcing to manufacturing — fostering a one-team mentality.
*Collaborate with 3rd party testing and inspection agencies (both UK and overseas).
*Monitor and report on quality KPIs, supplier performance, and continuous improvement metrics.
About You*Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
*Significant number of years experience in manufacturing, product testing, or laboratory environments.
*Minimum of 3 years’ experience leading a technical or quality team.
*In-depth understanding of electrical product safety standards and quality systems.
*Strong analytical thinker with meticulous attention to detail.
*Excellent communicator — confident in leading teams and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
*Proactive, adaptable, and customer-focused, with a passion for achieving results.
