Across East London EdEx are working with multiple high-achieving Secondary Schools who are on the hunt for a Head of English for a September 2026 start. This is a permanent, and full-time contract.
The Head Teacher is looking for a high-performing Head of English who can not only deliver strong classroom practice, but also drive improvement across the wider school. This role comes with genuine middle leadership responsibility and is perfect for a teacher ready to step up or an experienced teacher keen for a fresh challenge.
The schools are well invested in the Education sector, with clear systems, strong mentoring and genuine scope for progression into senior leadership. You will be joining a team that values curriculum thinking, staff development and consistency.
Experienced teachers can take on responsibility for curriculum, assessment, intervention, staff coaching and subject or phase leadership. There is genuine scope here for somebody who wants to make an impact quickly.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
*Must have UK QTS
*Strong academics across the board - Degree, A Levels and GCSEs
*A proven track record of strong teaching and raising attainment
*Must be ready to lead staff, model best practice and drive improvement
*Must be willing to listen to feedback and work closely with SLT
