Assistant Management Accountant
Derbyshire (5 days on-site)
£35,000 – £40,000 per annum
Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
The Company
My client is a growing manufacturing business based in Derbyshire. Due to recent growth and acquisitions, they are looking to hire as Assistant Management Accountant to join the company. This is a newly created role and my client is looking for someone to join their team and to grow with the business.
The Role
An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Management Accountant to join the finance team. Reporting to the Finance Controller, the role will support the production of financial information and provide insight to assist business decision-making.
This position is suited to someone progressing through professional qualifications who is looking to build experience in management accounting within an industry setting.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is an active ACCA or CIMA studier looking for a role where there is progression to Management Accountant.
Key Responsibilities
*Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit and loss and balance sheet reporting
*Support the delivery of monthly reporting packs, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines
*Contribute to variance analysis, identifying key movements and trends
*Assist with audit processes and maintain appropriate financial controls
*Provide financial data and analysis to support operational teams
*Prepare reports for non-finance stakeholders where required
*Support and collaborate with junior team members where appropriate
Skills & Experience Required
*Part-Qualified ACCA or CIMA
*Approximately 2–4 years’ experience in a finance role, preferably within industry
*Good understanding of core accounting principles
*Strong Microsoft Excel skills
*Analytical approach with good attention to detail
*Ability to communicate effectively with non-finance colleagues
*Experience with accounting systems such as Business Central, Oracle, or similar is beneficial
*Well organised with the ability to manage deadlines
