Assistant Manager - Charities/Not For Profit

Job Description:
Join a respected and progressive accountancy firm in Cambridge, renowned for its specialist expertise within the Not-for-Profit sector. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of charities and purpose-led organisations, where you will play a key role in delivering high-quality audit and accounting services. You will also support the development of junior team members while building strong, trusted relationships with clients.

Key Responsibilities include:
*Leading audit fieldwork teams on key assignments, including completion of audit work on high-risk areas
*Supporting Managers in the day-to-day management of client portfolios, ensuring work is delivered on time and within budget
*Planning and budgeting assignments, monitoring progress and proactively identifying and resolving issues
*Reviewing work prepared by trainees, providing constructive feedback and ensuring quality ahead of Manager review
*Monitoring job budgets against actuals and investigating variances
*Assisting with billing and minimising write-offs
*Keeping up to date with technical developments, including Charity SORP
*Identifying opportunities for additional services and supporting business development activities
*Assisting with tenders, including proposal preparation and presentations
To gain an interview you will be a qualified Audit professional with strong technical knowledge and a passion for working with not-for-profit organisations. You will be proactive, organised and confident in supporting both clients and colleagues and be proficient in Excel and audit software such as Caseware.
