Vision FR is delighted to be working with a Fabulous SME company working in the Luxury Travel sector to help with their search for an Associate Finance Manager to support their growing business. Reporting into the Head of Finance and managing a finance associate.
Working hours: Monday to Friday 9-5.30 pm, and any additional hours and days as required by your role.
Overall responsibility: Day-to-day finance operations, ownership of management accounts process and supporting statutory reporting.
Suitability: This opportunity would suit a part-qualified or qualified-by-experience accountant who is methodical, reliable, and comfortable taking ownership of financial records and reporting within a collaborative, fast-paced SME environment
Key Responsibilities Include:
*Ownership of the monthly management accounts process, including revenue and cost reconciliations, journals, and analysis of overheads against budget
*Prepare monthly and year-to-date reporting packs for review and agreement with the Head of Finance
*Complete month-end close activities including balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and supporting schedules
*Support the year-end process by preparing month 12 management accounts for review with the Head of Finance and onward submission to outsourced accountants for statutory accounts and corporation tax
*Oversee day-to-day finance operations, supervising the Finance Associate to ensure accurate and timely processing
*Support cash management, including short-term cashflow forecasting and oversight of debtors, creditors, bank payments, and bank reconciliations
*Ensure timely and accurate client billing in collaboration with client teams and the Finance Associate
*Provide hands-on support across transactional finance where required, including stepping in to assist with or cover sales ledger, purchase ledger, and bank processing
*Oversee quarterly VAT submissions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with deadlines
*Ensure payroll-related postings including PAYE, NI, and pensions are accurate, timely, and reconciled
*Act as a key point of contact for finance queries across the business
*Work closely with the Finance Associate on day-to-day activities, maintaining a collaborative team environment
*Support ongoing improvements to processes and systems, ensuring Xero and Salesforce are used effectively and appropriate controls are maintained

Essential Requirements
*Qualified by experience or part-qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACA
*Proven experience in a hands-on finance role within an SME environment
*Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and month-end processes
*Strong recent experience using Xero
*Advanced Excel or Google Sheets capability
*Experience with online banking platforms
*High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
*Clear and professional written and verbal communication
*Comfortable working independently while contributing to a small team
*Practical, hands-on approach with a proactive mindset
*Comfortable rolling up sleeves and supporting transactional finance when required
