Are you passionate about bringing the past to life and inspiring young minds to think critically about the world around them?
We’re seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of History to join a thriving secondary school in Southampton on a long-term temporary basis, starting as soon as possible.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a forward-thinking Humanities department that sees History as fundamental to empowering students to engage confidently in conversations and debates. The school’s curriculum is designed to help students:
*Develop a deep and connected understanding of local, national, and global history.
*Cultivate curiosity, critical thinking, and resilience by exploring complex historical questions and perspectives.
*Appreciate the diverse cultures, communities, and stories that have shaped our world.
*Build confidence in presenting their own interpretations while being open to challenge and debate.
As a History teacher in this inspiring environment, you’ll help students master not only a rich body of historical knowledge but also the analytical and reflective skills that will serve them throughout their lives.
The ideal candidate will:
*Hold QTS (or equivalent) and have experience teaching History across KS3 and KS4.
*Be passionate about developing students’ curiosity and independent thinking.
*Deliver engaging lessons that connect the past to the present.
*Be available to start immediately and work on a long-term basis.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
