Full job descriptionJob Title: Warehouse Manager
Location: Newbury Site
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
(Flexible hours available: 8:00am – 4:00pm)
Forklift experience is desirable but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations & Inventory Management
*Manage daily warehouse operations with full accountability for incoming deliveries, ensuring all goods are accurately received, checked, and recorded.
*Ensure all deliveries are recorded on the warehouse management system on the same day of arrival or, at the latest, by the end of the following working day.
*Maintain excellent inventory accuracy, ensuring all items are correctly scanned, located, and accounted for at all times.
*Ensure all transfers between warehouse locations are accurately recorded and locations updated on the warehouse management system upon arrival.
*Assist in ensuring all items are accurately tracked regardless of delivery location (Newbury site or alternative location).
Stock Handling & Organisation
*Facilitate collections across multiple departments for both sold and unsold goods.
*Ensure furniture and stock are stacked, sorted, and located according to allocation requirements.
*Maintain a tidy, organised, and safe warehouse environment at all times.
Team Leadership
*Manage and supervise warehouse porters, setting clear timescales for completion of core daily tasks and operations.
*Ensure staff follow best practices for manual handling, stock movement, and health and safety compliance.
Administration & Systems
*Provide administrative support to internal departments, including:
*Creation of receipts and collection dockets
*Obtaining required documentation from clients (ID, Power of Attorney, bank details)

*Allocate all warehouse deliveries to the appropriate Head of Department via the warehouse management system.
Cross-Department Collaboration
*Work closely with internal teams to ensure efficient warehouse operations, including:
*Photography Team: Support daily stock flow to ensure new items are processed efficiently, optimising time and achieving daily targets where scheduled.
*Specialist Departments: Support cataloguing and preparation of new stock.
*Valuations and Consignments Teams: Request and manage relevant consignment documentation and client information.
*Operations and Logistics Teams: Coordinate transfers of stock between warehouse locations where required.

Logistics & Deliveries
*Act as the main point of contact for carriers and delivery companies.
*Coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any delivery-related queries efficiently.
Equipment & Facilities
*Ensure all warehouse equipment is fit for purpose and well maintained, including manual handling equipment.
*Request repairs, replacements, or new equipment as required.
Health & Safety
*Oversee all health and safety aspects of the warehouse.
*Act as Fire Warden for the site.
*Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and internal policies.
Essential:
*Proven experience managing warehouse operations
*Strong inventory management and stock control expertise
*Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
*Hands-on, proactive approach with strong organisational skills
*Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations
