We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Food Technician to join a thriving secondary school in Lewisham. This is a full-time position, working five days per week, ideal for a candidate with strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for supporting high-quality food education.
The Role
As a Food Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of engaging and practical food lessons. You will work closely with teaching staff to prepare ingredients, maintain equipment, and ensure a safe and organised learning environment for students.
Key Responsibilities
*Preparing ingredients and resources for practical food lessons
*Maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised kitchen/classroom environment
*Supporting teachers during practical sessions
*Managing stock levels and ordering supplies as required
*Ensuring all health and safety standards are consistently met
Requirements
*Previous experience as a Food Technician or in a similar role within an educational setting
*Strong knowledge of food preparation, nutrition, and kitchen safety
*A relevant degree is preferred
*Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
*A proactive and flexible approach to supporting teaching and learning
