Primary Teacher - Alternative Provision (Short-Term)
Location: Wickford, Essex
Start Date: Mid-May
Duration: 4-6 weeks
We are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient Primary Teacher to work within an Alternative Provision setting in Wickford, Essex. This is a short-term opportunity starting mid-May, ideal for a teacher who is passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs and fostering positive outcomes in a non-mainstream environment.
The Role:
· Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to primary-aged pupils
· Support students with SEMH, behavioural needs, and/or additional learning needs
· Create a calm, structured, and nurturing learning environment
· Work collaboratively with support staff and the wider team
· Monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
The Ideal Candidate Will:
· Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
· Have experience teaching at Primary level
· Have experience within Alternative Provision, SEN, PRU, or similar settings (desirable but not essential)
· Be patient, adaptable, and confident managing challenging behaviour
· Have a genuine passion for making a difference to vulnerable learners
