The opportunity
We are recruiting an experienced Finance Business Partner to support a large, complex, multi-site operational environment during a critical period. This role sits at the heart of the finance function and works closely with senior operational leaders to shape plans, challenge decisions and drive performance across a significant cost base.
You will act as the primary finance interface for Operations, bringing insight, rigour and commercial thinking to both day-to-day management and longer-term strategic activity.
What you’ll be doing
In this high-impact role, you will:
*Partner senior operational leadership, acting as their trusted finance lead and sounding board
*Build a deep understanding of operational strategy, performance drivers and cost pressures
*Lead financial review sessions, translating results into clear insight and actions
*Deliver robust forecasting, budgeting and long-range planning across site and corporate cost centres
*Support cost efficiency and transformation initiatives, tracking benefits and value delivered
*Develop investment appraisals and business cases, including post-implementation reviews
*Provide financial modelling and costing support for growth opportunities and operational change
*Produce clear, high-quality analysis to support decision-making at operational and executive level
*Balance multiple priorities, meeting deadlines without compromising quality or accuracy
What we’re looking for
You’ll be a commercially minded finance professional with strong operational exposure, ideally from a logistics, distribution or retail setting. You’ll combine technical strength with the confidence to challenge and influence senior stakeholders.
Key requirements include:
*Proven experience partnering with operational teams in a complex environment
*Strong budgeting, forecasting and planning capability
*Experience building business cases and assessing investment decisions
*Ability to clearly explain financial performance to non-finance audiences
*Advanced spreadsheet and financial systems skills
*Strong presentation and storytelling skills, bringing clarity to the numbers
*High attention to detail, with a structured and organised approach
*Comfortable operating in ambiguity, managing competing deadlines
*Curious, proactive and collaborative working style
