A welcoming and supportive specialist education setting in Minehead is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately. This role is offered through a teaching personnel agency and is available on both a part-time and full-time basis.
About the Role:
You will be supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them to access learning in a nurturing and structured environment. This may include working 1:1 or with small groups, adapting learning activities, and supporting emotional and behavioural development.
Key Responsibilities:
*Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs
*Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering engaging lessons
*Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development
*Help manage behaviour positively and effectively
*Create a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment
What We’re Looking For:
*Experience working with children or young people with SEND (preferred but not essential)
*A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
*Strong communication and teamwork skills
*A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
*Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3) are desirable but not essential
