NE5, Newcastle upon Tyne
Full-Time | £92–£110 per day
Start Date: After May Half Term (Week Commencing 1st June)
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive alternative provision setting in NE5, Newcastle. This is a full-time pastoral role, working closely with students who require additional emotional and behavioural support.
The ideal candidate will be ’thick-skinned’, calm under pressure, and able to build strong, trusting relationships with young people who may present challenging behaviours. A proactive attitude and a genuine commitment to supporting students’ personal development is essential.
This is a full-time position with a competitive salary of £92–£110 per day dependent on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
*Provide pastoral support to students with SEMH needs
*Help manage behaviour in a positive and consistent manner
*Support students both in and out of the classroom
*Work collaboratively with teaching staff and pastoral teams
Requirements:
*Experience working with SEMH or challenging behaviour (preferred)
*Strong resilience and emotional intelligence
*Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
*Full-time availability
*Must have an enhanced DBS on the update service
