Full job descriptionPurpose of the RoleThe purpose of this role as a Family Time Support Worker is to deliver high-quality, child-centred Family Time interventions that promote positive outcomes for Looked After Children (LAC) and their families. You will work directly with vulnerable families, often with complex needs, supporting safe family time, parenting capacity, and child development while contributing to statutory assessments and care planning.

Key Responsibilities*Contribute to and follow risk assessments to safeguard children and young people from harm
*Plan, deliver, and accurately record Family Time interventions to support statutory assessments
*Deliver evidence-based parenting interventions in line with Framework for Action guidance
*Support child development and behaviour management using EYFS guidance
*Work directly with families on child protection and care plans, including in family homes where appropriate
*Build positive, professional relationships with families, social workers, and partner agencies
*Share clear, timely, and accurate information to support effective decision-making
*Work closely alongside social care professionals, contributing to assessments and care plans
*Manage a varied caseload, meeting agreed outcomes and reporting requirements
*Support, mentor, and supervise students and volunteers
*Undertake additional duties appropriate to the role and service needs


Requirements*Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle
*Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
*Experience working with vulnerable families and Looked After Children
*Strong understanding of child development and behaviour management strategies
*Knowledge of EYFS and parenting capacity frameworks (e.g. Framework for Action)
*Ability to manage a caseload, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines
