Full job descriptionBehaviour Mentor - London
North | East | South | West London
Full-Time | Long-Term | September Start
£100-£120 per day
We are working with a number of specialist schools across London who are looking to appoint confident, empathetic and resilient Behaviour Mentors for a September start.
This is a highly rewarding role supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to regulate behaviour, build positive relationships with adults, and develop strategies to manage their emotions in a more positive and structured way.
Many of the students respond particularly well to staff who can bring consistency, calmness and clear boundaries - and a sports, coaching or youth work background is highly desirable, as structured, active and team-based approaches often have a strong impact on engagement and behaviour.
Key Responsibilities:*Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring for students with SEMH and behavioural needs
*Support emotional regulation, resilience and positive behaviour choices
*Use consistent behaviour strategies including de-escalation and restorative approaches
*Work closely with teachers, pastoral teams and external professionals
*Help create a safe, structured and supportive learning environment
*Act as a positive role model and trusted adult for vulnerable learners
The Ideal Candidate:*Experience in behaviour support, youth work, mentoring, coaching or education
*Background in sports, coaching or physical activity is highly desirable
*Calm, confident and consistent approach when managing challenging behaviour
*Strong ability to build trust and positive relationships with young people
*Understanding of trauma-informed practice and de-escalation strategies
*Reliable, proactive and genuinely committed to supporting vulnerable learners
Why This Role? This is a fantastic opportunity to join supportive specialist settings across London where your impact will be seen every day, not just in behaviour, but in confidence, relationships, and long-term outcomes.
If you are looking for a September start in a role where you can genuinely make a difference, we would love to hear from you.
