*Location: London
*Job Type: Temporary (5 months)
*Rate: £12.99 per hour
We are seeking a Buying Team Administrator to provide comprehensive administrative support to our Buying team. This temporary role is crucial for ensuring tasks are undertaken accurately and within company timescales, driving overall performance in the business unit. Previous experience at Argos is preferred but not essential.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Create category SKUs and maintain data integrity in line with company targets.
*Adhere to buying milestones within the critical path to ensure on-time launches and provide feedback as appropriate to the team.
*Liaise with suppliers to chase key information.
*Ensure that Promotional and Pricing administration is completed efficiently and effectively on behalf of the trading team.
*Prepare approvals for Buyer/Junior Buyer/Assistant Buyer and send to suppliers.
*Provide excellent customer service to store colleagues through speedy and accurate issue resolution.
*Carry out accurate filing and maintenance of all required records in line with company procedures and legal guidelines.
*Prepare for, attend, and take notes at meetings.
*Conduct competitor shop reports and feedback to the team.
*Confirm product details and administration post sign-off to suppliers in line with the critical path.
*Ensure team activity is legal and compliant, and ensure training to understand obligations under competition law and ethical training.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Computer literate, with strong skills in Excel & MS Office.
*Analytical and numerical skills.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Knowledge of business principles and core values.
*Excellent administrative and organisational abilities.
*Interest in commercial issues.
*Strong team working skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
*Proactive approach, suggesting ideas to improve processes.
*Open to trying new ideas or ways of doing things.
*Previous experience in a similar role, preferably at Argos, is advantageous.
