Full job descriptionJob Title: Production Manager
Scope of the Job: To support the Factory Manager in the efficient operation and control of the day-to-day operations of the Site.
Key Responsibilities
*Responsible for all day-to-day matters of production, quality and hygiene.
*Responsible and accountable for achieving the required product quality and specification, and meeting the production plans with efficient operation.
*Responsible for the motivation, training and operation of the staff in their direct control.
*Responsible for stock control, and correct stock rotation of materials in their direct control.
*Responsible for the completion and collation of all documentation as defined in the Production or Quality Assurance Procedures and to make it available to the Quality Assurance Manager.
*Responsible for allocating appropriate staff resources in their direct control and ensuring the correct implementation of the Site’s hygiene standards.
*Participating member of the multi-disciplinary HACCP team.
*Carry out all duties as deemed necessary to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the factory.
*Responsible for all product manufacturing lines, and meeting the planned production programme, with an appropriate financial and operational efficiency.
*Responsible for all stages of production from raw material delivery to the despatch of finished pallets of product.
*Responsible for establishing a system of productivity control for all employees whether temporary or permanent in all areas under his control.
*Responsible for producing product in accordance with specifications and for reviewing quality achievements against these standards.
*Organise the required resources, including personnel, packaging and stock levels to deliver the daily plan.
*Oversee production processes and re-negotiate timescales or schedules, as necessary with the factory manager.
*Monitor productivity rates and product standards and liaise with the Technical department to review quality control programmes.
*Ensure that business and customer quality, food safety and hygiene standards are achieved throughout the factory to the required standards of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
*Ensure customer orders are completed on time and to budget and that quality standards and targets are met.
*Supervise and motivate staff.
*Liaise with the Technical department in the effective implementation of processes and procedures.
*Carry out all reasonable requests and duties as deemed necessary to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the factory.
Skills
*Ability to ’get things done’ in an efficient and timely manner.
*Strong verbal and written communication skills
*Ability to take ownership and responsibility.
*Must be able to work proactively and under pressure.
*Excellent reporting skills with a keen eye for attention to detail
*Good working knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP principles, and regulatory requirements.
*Strong leadership skills
*Good working knowledge of Food Safety and Health and Safety.
Good working knowledge of all on site policies and procedures.
