Secondary School - Witham, Essex
We are seeking a caring, resilient, and proactive Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Witham. This role involves supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and additional learning needs, helping them to access education, build confidence, and achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally.
The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff, the SENCO, and pastoral teams to provide one-to-one and small group support within the classroom and around the school environment.
Key responsibilities include:
*Supporting students with SEN in lessons and around the school
*Delivering one-to-one and small group interventions
*Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
*Supporting students with organisation, communication, and learning tasks
*Working collaboratively with teachers, parents/carers, and external professionals
*Experience working with children or young people with SEN, SEMH, or additional needs
*Strong communication and relationship-building skills
*Patience, resilience, and a calm approach under pressure
*A genuine passion for supporting young people
*The ability to work effectively as part of a team
