A growing managed IT and cyber security provider supporting over 5,000 users across 100+ creative and commercial businesses is looking to hire an experienced Solutions Engineer – Cyber Security to join its technical consultancy team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong and client-focused engineer to play a key role in securing modern IT environments across cloud, network, and endpoint infrastructure. The position combines hands-on engineering, cyber security best practice, and customer engagement within a fast-paced managed services environment.
The Role
Working as part of a specialist engineering team, you will design, implement, and support a range of cyber security solutions across client environments. You will be involved in both proactive security improvement projects and reactive incident response activity, helping clients strengthen their overall security posture.
This is a highly varied role suited to someone who enjoys working across multiple technologies and collaborating directly with clients.
Key Responsibilities
*Design, implement, and maintain cyber security solutions across network, endpoint, and cloud environments
*Deploy and manage firewalls, endpoint protection, EDR, and security monitoring tools
*Lead and support cyber security incident response activities including investigation, containment, remediation, and reporting
*Conduct vulnerability assessments, security reviews, and risk analysis
*Recommend and implement improvements aligned to security best practice and compliance requirements
*Secure and support cloud platforms including:
*Microsoft Azure
*Amazon Web Services
*Configure and manage SIEM and security monitoring solutions
*Provide technical guidance and cyber security advice directly to clients
*Work closely with internal engineering teams and mentor junior technical staff where required
Skills & Experience Required
*Previous experience in a Solutions Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, Service Desk Engineer, or Cyber Security role
*Strong understanding of:
*Network security
*Firewalls
*Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR)
*SIEM technologies
*Hands-on experience with endpoint security solutions such as:
*Microsoft Defender
*Sophos
*Bitdefender
*Experience securing cloud-based environments within Azure and/or AWS
*Good understanding of:
*Cyber Essentials
*Cyber Essentials Plus
*General cyber security frameworks and best practices
*Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
*Comfortable working in a client-facing consultancy or managed services environment
