Site Engineer Highbridge, Somerset
Site-Based | Customer-Facing Role
Join a Growing Engineering Service TeamWe are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join our service team in Highbridge. This is a dynamic, hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing materials handling equipment and site machinery, while acting as a key technical contact for customers.
This role is ideal for engineers from automotive, HGV, plant, forklift, or military backgrounds who are looking for more autonomy and variety in their day-to-day work.
Key Responsibilities*Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on materials handling and ancillary equipment
*Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently and safely
*Complete service reports, job sheets, and timesheets accurately
*Manage and control on-site parts stock
*Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring service expectations are met
*Liaise with internal teams to provide accurate repair updates and ETAs
*Identify and complete additional chargeable repair work
*Ensure full compliance with health & safety procedures
*Identify and pass on new sales or service opportunities
*Represent the business professionally as a Company Ambassador
Occasional call-out and out-of-hours work may be required.

Essential Requirements*Proven experience in maintenance, repair, or field service engineering
*Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
*Confident working in a customer-facing environment
*Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
*Proactive, professional, and solutions-focused approach
*Full UK driving licence
