Contract Type: Full-Time / Permanent
About the RoleWe are currently seeking a passionate and fully qualified Science Teacher to join a range of well-established secondary schools across Liverpool. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire students and contribute to high-quality science education within dynamic and inclusive school environments.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 depending on specialism and experience. You will play a key role in fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and a strong understanding of scientific principles among students of all abilities.
Key Responsibilities*Plan and deliver engaging, practical, and well-structured Science lessons in line with the national curriculum
*Teach across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 teaching available depending on specialism)
*Specialise in one or more disciplines: Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
*Assess and monitor student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback
*Differentiate teaching to support all learners, including SEN and high-achieving students
*Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom and laboratory environment
*Support students in achieving strong GCSE (and A-Level where applicable) results
*Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop schemes of work and share best practice
*Participate in school activities, parents’ evenings, and continuous professional development
Requirements*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
*Degree in Science or a related discipline (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or similar)
*Experience teaching Science within a UK secondary school setting
*Strong subject knowledge and a passion for science education
*Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
*Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
*Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils
*Ability to inspire, motivate, and challenge students of all abilities
Desirable (Not Essential)*Experience teaching GCSE and/or A-Level Science
*Specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics at KS5
*Familiarity with schools in Liverpool or the local education landscape
*Experience delivering practical science lessons and maintaining lab safety standards
*Use of innovative teaching methods or technology
