Overview

A global multidisciplinary consultancy is expanding its Mechanical Building Services team across Exeter and Plymouth due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured UK and international projects.

The role sits within a multidisciplinary team delivering mechanical engineering solutions across defence, infrastructure, healthcare, education, commercial and secure environments.

This is a design-focused position supporting full lifecycle delivery from concept design through to construction.

Key Responsibilities
*Support mechanical building services design across RIBA Stages 0–7
*Assist in the design of HVAC systems including heating, cooling, ventilation and associated plant
*Undertake engineering calculations including heat loss/gain, pipe sizing and airflow calculations
*Produce drawings, specifications, reports and technical documentation using Revit and AutoCAD
*Work within multi-disciplinary engineering teams
*Support coordination with electrical, structural and architectural disciplines
*Attend design meetings and assist in technical problem solving
*Support sustainable and low-carbon design strategies
*Assist with site inspections and construction phase support
Requirements
*Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
*2–3 years’ experience in building services design (consultancy preferred)
*Understanding of HVAC systems and UK construction standards
*Revit / BIM experience advantageous
*Strong communication and willingness to develop
*Security Clearance eligibility beneficial due to defence workload
