We are looking for a highly motivated and commercially minded Strategic HR Business Partner to join the HR team of a London Borough, supporting the Culture, Environment & Economy directorate.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in delivering innovative, proactive, and high-quality HR solutions that support organisational priorities, drive workforce performance, and shape the future of our services.
Key Responsibilities include:
As a Strategic HR Business Partner, you will provide expert strategic and operational HR support across a broad range of people matters, including:
*Complex employee relations casework
*Organisational change and transformation
*Workforce planning and policy development
*Strategic attendance management and wellbeing initiatives
*Leadership support and coaching
*Trade union engagement and stakeholder management
A key focus of the role will be leading strategies to reduce sickness absence across the directorate. You will analyse workforce data, identify trends and root causes, and develop targeted interventions that improve attendance, wellbeing, and organisational performance.
You will work closely with senior leaders and Directorate Management Teams, providing insight, challenge, and expert guidance to support effective decision-making and service delivery.
Experience and knowledge required:
We are seeking a confident and resilient HR professional with significant experience in a complex organisational environment, ideally within the public sector.
You will bring:
*Proven experience managing complex employee relations casework, including organisational change and TUPE
*CIPD qualification and evidence of continuing professional development
*Strong understanding of employment legislation and HR best practice
*Experience developing and implementing HR policies and procedures
*Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment
