Salary: £40-45k doe + excellent benefits
*Are you an experienced AutoCAD Electrical Designer with a background in industrial automation and control panels?
*Do you have experience producing electrical schematics and panel layouts for PLC and SCADA systems?
*Do you enjoy working closely with automation engineers and project teams to deliver high-quality control system designs?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist automation business that is continuing to grow following recent contract wins and ongoing investment across the business.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and development of electrical drawings and control panel documentation for industrial automation projects across a range of sectors.
Key Responsibilities*Prepare and modify AutoCAD electrical drawings for PLC, SCADA, MCC, and automation control panels
*Produce detailed electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and terminal details
*Support the design and development of industrial automation and control systems
*Work closely with automation engineers, electricians, and project teams throughout design and installation phases
*Ensure all drawings comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications
*Assist with BOM (Bill of Materials) preparation and component selection
*Support panel fabrication, FAT testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities where required
*Maintain accurate project documentation, drawing revisions, and engineering records
*Interpret P&IDs, single-line diagrams, and control schematics
About You*Previous experience in an AutoCAD Electrical Design / Electrical Design Engineer role within industrial automation or control systems
*Strong proficiency using AutoCAD Electrical or similar electrical drafting software
*Good understanding of PLC systems and SCADA architectures
*Knowledge of industrial control panels, instrumentation, and electrical circuits
*Familiarity with industrial networking and automation components
*Understanding of panel wiring standards and electrical compliance requirements
*Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary engineering teams
*Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Qualifications*HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or similar engineering discipline preferred
*Relevant industry experience will also be considered
