*Job Type: Full-time, Temporary (6 - 7 months)
*Pay Rate: £14.21 per hour (PAYE)
*Location: Time Square, Warrington, Cheshire, WA1 1UH
Warrington Council are looking for three full-time Catering Supervisors to join our School Meals Catering Service within the Families & Wellbeing Directorate. This role is crucial for ensuring that our school meals service meets the required standards and provides nutritious, well-managed meals to students. Positions include two roles for mobile cover and one maternity leave cover.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Supervise the daily operations of a designated School Meals Catering Outlet.
*Plan and cook meals, manage portion control, amend menus as needed, and cater to special dietary requirements.
*Supervise, direct, and induct kitchen staff, including organising work rotas.
*Manage the receipt, storage, and ordering of supplies, as well as the maintenance of kitchen equipment.
*Maintain accurate records for stock control, food orders, income, and invoices.
*Monitor food costs and maintain financial targets under the guidance of the Area Account Manager.
*Ensure high levels of hygiene and compliance with Food Safety Management Systems, COSHH, and Health and Safety regulations.
*Maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders including head teachers, parents, and pupils.
*Assist with the recruitment and induction of kitchen staff.
*Ensure all kitchen administration documents are completed accurately and on time.
*Promote and participate in promotional activities to increase uptake of school meals and other catering services.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Experience in a supervisory role within a catering environment, preferably in an educational setting.
*Valid Enhanced DBS check.
*Valid Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
*Strong leadership and people management skills.
*Excellent organisational and communication skills.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Commitment to promoting healthy eating and adherence to National Nutritional Standards.
