Are you an experienced Science Technician with a background in schools or education? Tradewind Recruitment is looking for a skilled and reliable Science Technician to join a secondary school in Tameside immediately.
The Role:As a Science Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the Science Department, ensuring that all practical lessons are well-prepared and run smoothly. Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing and organising equipment for science experiments and practical sessions
Ensuring safe storage, handling, and disposal of chemicals in line with health and safety regulations
Keeping track of stock levels and ordering laboratory supplies when needed
Cleaning and maintaining scientific apparatus to ensure a safe working environment
? Assisting teachers and students with practical experiments where necessary
Maintaining accurate records of equipment, stock, and health & safety checks
Who We’re Looking For: Must have previous experience working as a Science Technician in a school or educational setting
Strong knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and scientific equipment
Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
