My client is looking for a Junior Scientist to join their team, full training is given, so previous experience is not essential, but a keenness to learn with a driven approach is. A strong educational background would be great specifically in Physics and/or Chemistry, but it is not essential. This role will primarily be involved with the company’s performance based additive product range together with R&D activities reporting to the Associate Scientist.
Duties:
*To assist the Technical and Sales Teams
*Testing and analytical activities
*Determination of metal species in plastic products and additives via XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence) Spectroscopy
*Identification of polymer type and composition
*Accelerated ageing and stability testing of plastic
*Conduct and report experimental work
*Conduct literature reviews, plan and conduct experiments
*Technical sales support activities
*Process all test samples in accordance with company procedure
*Keep relevant parties informed on progress of sample testing and advise expected lead times
*Communicating test results to relevant parties
*Basic polymer science,
*Extrusion and conversion processes
*Relevant analytical and accelerated ageing techniques
*Carry out duties in accordance with the company’s QMS which are ISO9001 & ISO14001
