Reed Education are working in partnership with a primary school in Plymouth to recruit an experienced Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant for an immediate start.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a confident Teaching Assistant who thrives in a dynamic classroom environment and can provide consistent, adaptable support to pupils with behavioural needs.
About the role

You will be primarily supporting SEN pupils within a mainstream primary classroom.


The role requires close, proactive support to ensure both pupils can access learning while maintaining a positive environment for the wider class.
Key responsibilities
*Provide one to one and small group support within the classroom
*Support pupils who may disengage or refuse tasks, even when motivated by preferred activities
*Use a range of approaches, including calm, reassuring or enthusiastic communication
*Support transitions between activities, including the use of visual timetables
*Help pupils regulate behaviour and remain engaged in learning
*Adapt quickly when tasks are completed, supporting the wider class where required
*Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment


The ideal candidate
*Has proven experience supporting children with behavioural or additional needs
*Demonstrates strong behaviour management skills
*Is calm, patient and highly resilient
*Can adapt quickly within an unpredictable environment
*Is confident working both one to one and across a classroom
