Full job descriptionSEN Teaching Assistant – Specialist School Setting
*Location: Plymouth
*Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only
*Salary: £95 per day
Join an inclusive SEN school as a Teaching Assistant, where you will support pupils with a range of additional needs including autism, learning difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs. This role is ideal for someone who is committed, enthusiastic, and eager to help students develop both academically and personally.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
*Assist with the delivery of tailored learning plans.
*Encourage independence, confidence, and social skills.
*Support behaviour management strategies in line with school policies.
*Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student development.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Previous experience with SEN is highly desirable, whether in education, care, or support work.
*Patient, resilient, and passionate about supporting children with SEN.
*Comfortable working in a structured but sometimes challenging environment.
*A strong communicator who can build positive relationships.
*Flexible and proactive in their approach to learning support.
*Team Teach or similar training is desirable but not essential.
*Relevant qualification in childcare or education is advantageous.
