Full job descriptionFull-Time Maths & English GCSE Tutor (SEMH)Location: DA6, Bexleyheath
Hours: Full-time, 32.5 hours per week
Start Date: ASAP (subject to compliance checks)
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Maths and English Tutor to support Year 11 pupils within a school setting in Bexleyheath (DA6). This role involves delivering targeted GCSE Foundation-level support to students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Key Responsibilities*Provide tailored Maths and English tuition to Year 11 pupils
*Support students working towards GCSE Foundation level
*Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual SEMH needs
*Build positive relationships to encourage engagement and confidence
*Work collaboratively with school staff and pastoral teams
*Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback where required
*Maintain a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment
Requirements*Experience supporting secondary-aged pupils, ideally Year 11
*Strong understanding of GCSE Foundation Maths and English curriculum
*Experience working with SEMH students or other additional needs is highly desirable
*Patient, resilient and adaptable approach
*Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
*Right to work in the UK
*Relevant qualifications or tutoring/teaching experience preferred
