The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety Manager to take full responsibility for all EHS activities across our manufacturing site.
This is a key leadership role where you will ensure legal compliance, drive continuous improvement, maintain ISO management systems, and promote a proactive health & safety culture throughout the business.
You’ll work closely with management and operational teams to minimise risk, improve standards, and ensure environmental compliance at all times.
Key Responsibilities*Lead and maintain the company’s Health & Safety Management System
*Maintain and develop ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems
*Ensure compliance with COMAH, DSEAR, ATEX and environmental legislation
*Conduct and review site risk assessments and internal audits
*Develop and update EHS policies and procedures
*Deliver and coordinate H&S training, inductions and refresher programmes
*Investigate accidents/incidents and liaise with regulatory authorities when required
*Manage emergency preparedness and contractor safety processes
*Support and coach managers and employees to improve site safety performance
*Manage environmental monitoring, reporting and waste compliance
*Liaise with the Environment Agency and other governing bodies
*Maintain records relating to chemicals, PPE, fire safety and training
*Mentor and develop the EHS Officer
What We’re Looking For*NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma (essential)
*Experience within a manufacturing environment
*Strong understanding of UK Health, Safety & Environmental legislation
*Working knowledge of COMAH, DSEAR and ATEX regulations
*Experience in contractor management, risk assessments and emergency planning
*Excellent communication and organisational skills
*Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities
*Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
*Degree in Health & Safety or related discipline desirable
Working Hours*40 hours per week
*Monday to Friday
