Salary: £56k


I am currently working with a specialist engineering business based near Cambridge that supplies components to the UK aerospace sector - they are looking to appoint a Special Process Engineer to take ownership of critical manufacturing processes across their operation. The role will be based on-site and offering a starting salary circa £55,000 - £60,000 p/a plus additional benefits including a very competitive pension; it is an ideal opportunity for someone with a strong aerospace manufacturing background and an understanding of special processes and NADCAP compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
*Leading all special process activities across areas such as welding, heat treatment, NDT, chemical processing, and advanced machining
*Managing NADCAP and customer approvals, audits, and compliance activities
*Investigating complex quality issues and driving corrective actions
*Acting as the technical authority for special processes across the business
*Supporting process improvement, new technology implementation, and capital projects
*Managing and mentoring a Special Process Engineer
*Working closely with customers, auditors, and external technical specialists
The successful candidate will have:
*Strong experience within aerospace & defence or similar highly-regulated manufacturing environments
*Excellent knowledge of NADCAP and special processes
*Experience leading audits, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement projects
*A strong technical engineering background with the ability to influence across multiple departments
*Previous leadership or mentoring experience
