*12-hour shifts (6am–6pm / 6pm–6am)
*Monday to Thursday
*Alternating weekly between days and nights
*Seasonal variation:
*Summer: 4 shifts per week
*Winter: Typically 3 shifts per week
Overview
A well-established food manufacturing business in Cornwall is seeking a Quality Auditor to join its technical team. This role is key in ensuring product quality, food safety, and compliance standards are consistently met across the site.
You’ll play a hands-on role supporting production, conducting audits, and driving continuous improvement while working closely with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
*Conduct line quality checks to ensure products meet specifications
*Identify, report, and follow up on non-conformances
*Support production teams with quality-related issues and corrective actions
*Carry out internal audits in line with the audit schedule, including:
*GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice)
*Hygiene
*Traceability
*Complete weekly traceability exercises across departments
*Verify CCPs and support HACCP reviews
*Manage non-conforming products, including quarantine, rework, or release
*Maintain accurate documentation and audit records
*Conduct daily taste panels and report findings
*Investigate customer complaints and support root cause analysis
*Deliver training to operators and team leaders on quality standards
*Support product trials and collaborate with NPD teams
*Participate in internal meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Key Measures of Success
*Completion of audits and line checks as per schedule
*Effective control and reporting of non-conforming products
*Timely product release
*Accurate and consistent audit/reporting documentation
*Delivery of KPIs and continuous improvement outcomes
Candidate Requirements
*Previous experience in a QA / QC / Technical role within food manufacturing
*Strong understanding of food safety standards (HACCP, GMP, hygiene)
*Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
*Confident communicator with the ability to work across teams
*Proactive, self-motivated and able to manage workload independently
*Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (minimum)
