Description
*Work as part of the team to prepare and coordinate daily activities in the laboratory relating to the analysis of samples in the laboratory.
*Conducting vitamin and mineral analysis to achieve product release within agreed metrics.
*General health & safety of laboratory within the laboratory.
*Maintain good hygiene and housekeeping at all times.
*Maintain effective communication with other departments.
*Check analytical results and issue reports.
*Required to follow up on analytical issues and conduct trouble-shooting investigations.
*Assist in investigating failures.
*Work with the other laboratory staff to participate in customer P-tests.
*Assist in analytical method development/transfer and validation plus report writing.
*Have the opportunity to be involved in different internal projects.
Profile
A successful Laboratory analyst should have:
*Methodical with great attention to detail
*Ability to work autonomously, fast learner, willing to take initiatives and investigate issues with minimal guidance
*Self-Starter - Able to prioritise work to adhere to tight deadlines
*IT proficient in the main Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
*Experienced in HPLC analysis and methodology, LC-MS, UPC2 or ICP experience would be beneficial.
*Completed a science based A-levels to a satisfactory grade. Higher education at HND or degree level is preferred, but not essential.
*2-3 years of laboratory experience in the Food/Pharmaceutical industry in a QC or R&D capacity.
