6-Month Contract | £495 per day (PAYE)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Chief Engineer to lead engineering compliance, assurance, and technical strategy across a large and complex healthcare estate.
Working for a well-established organisation delivering estates and facilities services across a diverse portfolio, you will play a critical leadership role in ensuring statutory compliance, driving performance, and improving engineering assurance across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead engineering compliance and technical assurance across a multi-site estate
*Develop and maintain a robust assurance framework aligned to statutory and regulatory requirements
*Oversee critical infrastructure, including fire, water safety (L8), asbestos, and electrical systems
*Provide expert technical leadership to senior stakeholders, operational teams, and project functions
*Drive improvements in planned maintenance, compliance performance, and risk management
*Lead on estates-related risk registers, backlog maintenance programmes, and lifecycle planning
*Support delivery of capital projects, infrastructure upgrades, and decarbonisation initiatives
*Manage internal teams and external contractors to ensure delivery against KPIs, quality, and compliance standards
*Contribute to governance processes, reporting at senior/board level, and regulatory submissions
Key Requirements
*Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) – essential
*Degree-qualified in Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
*Significant senior-level experience within complex estates environments (healthcare highly desirable)
*Strong knowledge of HTMs, HBNs, statutory compliance, and engineering governance frameworks
*Proven track record in:
*Engineering compliance and assurance
*Managing large-scale estates or infrastructure portfolios
*Delivering capital projects and maintenance strategies
*Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills
