Job Description:
Full job descriptionWe are looking for confident and reliable Cover Supervisors to join our team, supporting secondary schools. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about education and keen to gain classroom experience.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into the classroom in the absence of the teacher, ensuring students remain focused and continue their learning in line with pre-set work.
Key Responsibilities
*Supervising classes across KS3 and KS4 (and occasionally KS5) in the absence of the teacher
*Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials and ensuring students stay on task
*Managing classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policies
*Providing a calm, structured and engaging learning environment
*Supporting students with their work and answering basic questions
*Reporting on lesson outcomes, behaviour, and any issues to teaching staff
*Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of students at all times
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking individuals who are:
Confident managing groups of young people in a classroom setting
Strong communicators with good behaviour management skills
Reliable, adaptable, and professional
Passionate about supporting students and education
Able to think on their feet and manage different classroom situations
Experience & Requirements
*Previous experience working with young people (school, coaching, mentoring, tutoring or youth work) is desirable
*A degree or relevant qualifications are beneficial but not essential
*Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
*A genuine interest in working within education
