Location: Cambridge
Contract: 12-months fixed term
A growing and well-established organisation is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join its finance team on a fixed-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity to gain broad exposure within a fast-paced business environment while supporting key financial processes.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will support the preparation of financial information and ensure the accuracy of day-to-day accounting activities.
Key responsibilities include:
*Assisting with monthly management accounts, journals, and financial reporting
*Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting reconciliations
*Purchase ledger and sales ledger management
*Performing bank reconciliations and assisting with cash forecasting
*Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations and audit requirements
*VAT returns

You will be a motivated and detail-oriented individual looking to develop your accounting career.
Requirements:
*Experience in a similar accounting role
*Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
*Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
*Good communication and interpersonal skills
*Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems
*A proactive and adaptable approach to work
